COMMISSION INFO

To view my completed Don't Starve mods, please visit my workshop!

  • I can make character, mob, and item mods for both Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together.

  • Art is based off of Don't Starve's official style, so some artistic liberties will be taken.

  • Commissions may take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to complete, depending on mod complexity.

  • I reserve the right to decline a commission for any reason.

  • Payment is required upfront through Paypal.

  • For mods over $300 USD, payment can be delivered 50% upfront and 50% upon completion. Files will not be sent to the commissioner or uploaded until full payment is received.

  • When mods are paid 100% upfront, The commissioner may request a private version of the mod to playtest and request changes as I am working on it! This is recommended for those concerned about mod balance.

  • After mod completion, I will continue to maintain the mod and fix bugs/crashes to the best of my ability.

  • Mods can be uploaded to the workshop myself, or given to the commissioner to use privately.


HOW TO COMMISSION

To order a commission, read my TOS and email me at [email protected] with the following information:


Commission Type(s): ex. DST character art + code, DS item code, DST Portrait, etc.
Character/Item Name(s):
Image references: For characters and head/torso items: front, side, and back view are needed. For hand items, only front view is needed. Mods without proper references may cost extra.
Character/Item Stats: Health/Hunger/Sanity, hunger/sanity drain, attack/defense multipliers, durability/damage, etc.
Other Perks/Abilities: Be as specific as possible!
Public or Private Mod: Private mods have a additional fee.
Your steam/social media acc(s): Will be used publicly in my queue and for crediting, and as an alternative way to contact you.

CHARACTER ART PRICES

CHARACTER SPRITE ART:
Starts at $200 USD for DST/$170 USD for DS

  • Price covers all 150+ required art assets needed for each character.

  • I can give characters empty white eyes or black dot eyes (like official characters) or give them pupils/irises. Detailed eyes may cost extra.

  • Changeable character appearances (either with skins or a transformation perk) can be done. Cost is dependent on how many sprites need to be redrawn.

  • Characters with complex designs, unique body types, & long hair may cost extra.

  • Characters with asymmetrical features (ex. heterochromia) cost extra if you don't want their sprites to "flip" to the wrong side.

Note: asymmetrical limbs cannot be done.

CHARACTER PORTRAIT:
Starts at $35 USD

  • Singleplayer and Multiplayer portraits styles differ slightly.

  • Complex character designs and props cost extra.


CHARACTER CODE PRICES

Code prices are based off of the amount of lines required and how much troubleshooting is needed to make sure it works.
Listed below are just a few examples. For an exact quote (and to see if I'm capable of coding it), message me with a detailed description of your perk and how it would operate ingame.

BASIC CODE: $10 USD

  • Minimum amount of code needed for the character to show up ingame.

  • Includes max hunger/sanity/health, attack/defense, heat/cold resist, hunger/sanity drain, speed, starting inventory

  • Configurable stats: Starts at $5 USD (includes all character stats & perks)


SIMPLE PERK: $2-5 USD

  • Favorite Foods

  • Custom food stats (ex. reduced hunger gain from veggies)

  • Custom food groups (ex. able to eat gems or wood)

  • Hunger/sanity/health gain (or drain) from a specific action

  • Friendly to prey animals (ex. rabbits)

  • Aggressive to normally neutral mobs (ex. pigmen, beefalo)

  • Take increased/decreased fire damage


MODERATE PERK: $8-10 USD+

  • Sanity aura from players or specific mobs

  • Stats change with the seasons/time of day/weather

  • Stats change depending on hunger/sanity/health

  • Neutral to normally aggressive mobs (ex. tallbirds, ghosts, killer bees)

  • Take more/less damage from a specific mob or damage source

  • Spawn a certain item/mob around the player (ex. butterflies, flowers) periodically or by an action

COMPLEX PERK: ASK FOR A QUOTE!

  • Transformation based off of stats/keypress/etc (price not including additional character sprites)

  • Unique ability upon keypress/alt-click/etc (ex. projectiles, spells, etc)


CUSTOM VOICE: $100 USD

  • Approximately 26-30 voice files used when talking, emoting, yawning, getting hurt/dying, being dead, etc.

  • For voice examples, please play Wimble, Womas, Constance, and Shulk.

  • Disclaimer: I am not a musical artist. While I can make custom voices, they take me a long time to do and may not be the best quality you can get. I would personally recommend seeking out an actual musician to create these assets, but I've added this as an option if it is more convenient to you.

  • If you commission someone else or make your own voice files, I can implement them for $10 USD instead!

HEAD ITEMS:
Starts at $35 USD

  • Heal target or user's health/sanity/hunger

  • Drain/gain sanity on equip or use

  • Increase damage per hit

  • Deal electric damage on hit


MODERATE ABILITY: $8-10 USD+

  • Item stats change depending on user's current hunger/sanity/health

  • Emit light/glow in the dark based off of fuel/charge/etc

  • Projectile-based weapons like blowdarts or magic blasts (price not including additional sprites)

  • Deal fire or ice damage on hit

COMPLEX ABILITY: ASK FOR A QUOTE!

  • Unique ability triggered on use (AOE damage, buffs, etc)

  • Item appearance changes depending on stats/durability/etc (price not including additional sprites)


CUSTOM SOUND: $2+ USD

  • Custom sound will play on equip use, ex. on attack or when casting spell.

  • Sound must be provided by commissioner.




MOBS & PETS

I am not an expert at mob creation, but I know enough to offer simple commissions for them! Don't expect anything groundbreaking, but a pet or summonable follower is within my ability.Custom mobs must be based off of an existing mob and use that mob's animations. I cannot create entirely new ones. I can change when/how animations are played, with some restrictions.Mob AI has to be at least somewhat based off of existing mob behaviors. Sometimes it is possible to take behaviors from one mob and apply it to another (ex. taking a deer and giving it pigman-like follower AI) but other times behavior is not transferable (ex. making a rideable mob that isn't based off of beefalo/Woby.) If this is the case for your desired mob, I will let you know and offer other suggestions.Prices will vary wildly depending upon the mob's art and AI complexity, so please ask for a quote!

SPECIAL EFFECTS

My specialty lies in frame-by-frame animation, not tweened animation used in Don't Starve, but I can still create some cool looking effects to use ingame.
Prices will vary wildly depending upon animation complexity, so please ask for a quote!

FAQ

Can I commission you for just art/portrait/code instead of a full mod?
Yes! Just be aware that when it comes to partial mods (i.e just art or just code), I may choose not to upload the mod to my public workshop and may not continue to maintain after completion. I will discuss this with you beforehand!
Can you make a mod that works in both DS and DST?
Yes, for a fee. Some perks may not be transferrable between games due to engine differences.
Can you do a custom action / ability / pet / [insert cool perk here]?
Maybe! I consider myself more of an artist than a programmer, so I may decline if it sounds too complicated. Check my existing mods for the types of perks I've previously done.
Can you do custom animations?
For special effects (ex. sparkles, projectiles, magic) and items? Yes, with some exceptions.
For characters? No. The character rig is sooo complicated ;__;
Can you do custom speech strings for character mods?
No. There's 3000+ lines that need to be edited, and I won't know your character well enough to fill them out. I can, however, provide a speech file with instructions that you can edit and send back.
When will your commission status be open again?
My queue is almost always full nowadays. If you are interested in getting a commission, I would highly recommend asking to be put on the waitlist.
